Funeral and Memorial Services
Choosing a service that is right for you and your family is very important and our funeral directors are dedicated to showing you all of your choices. In reviewing the selection of funeral options below, please keep in mind that if you are looking for something that is not featured we will do everything we can to accommodate any and all requests.
One Hour Family Gathering
Basic Cremations without a service have become increasingly popular in Brockville. However, many families have found that adding a one hour family gathering helps provide closure. This simple and private service is an opportunity for family and close friends to see a loved one for one last time. Venues are smaller and cozy creating a comfortable family atmosphere
This service provides a little more than a one hour family gathering where you have the option of having an urn and pictures as the focal point. Many times families choose to have visitations catered and Basic Funerals can arrange for a variety of options including wine and spirits.
Visitations are usually scheduled in two hour blocks and typically there is no formal service. Memorial visitations allow families to mingle with friends and share stories in an informal but very meaningful setting.
Tradition is very important to many families and we offer all aspects of the traditional funeral starting with the visitation. A traditional visitation has all of the same aspects as a memorial visitation, the only difference is that the casket is present. Although Basic Funerals always offers flexibility and choice, a typical visitation is the evening before the day of a service and sometimes the afternoon as well. Traditional visitations can be catered and can also include wine and spirits if desired.
Traditional Religious Funeral Service
A funeral service is a ceremony where a life is remembered and celebrated. Many cultures have traditionally held funeral services according to their religious rites and Basic Funerals can arrange for any type of traditional religious funeral.
Whether it be a full casket burial or the burial of cremated remains, sometimes the best place to have a meaningful funeral gathering is at the graveside. Traditionally a graveside service follows the formal funeral service and visitation but nowadays families are holding graveside services as the only part of the funeral. Whether it’s a full casket burial, a burial of cremated remains, entombment in a mausoleum or inurnment in a columbarium, these services can be very simple or very elaborate. Basic funerals can look after everything for you so that you don’t have to attend the burial or we can arrange for a more elaborate graveside service with a funeral celebrant, eulogies and even music. Whatever you choose.
Modern Funeral Celebration
These days many families are looking for something different and completely unique to their loved one who has passed away. If a modern funeral is what you want, we consider it our duty to assist you in arranging these services so that your final goodbye is perfect. We’ve held funerals everywhere from golf courses and yacht clubs, to racetracks and airplane hangars to parks and beaches. We’ve served favorite foods, played home movies and slide shows, signed caskets with paint-markers and even displayed vehicles. If there’s something you want at the funeral we will stop at nothing to make it happen. The choice is yours and the possibilities are endless.
No matter what type of funeral you choose, you may wish to hold a reception. Receptions are typically held after a funeral but families are now starting to hold memorial receptions in place of any other services. A wide host of locations and catering options are available as well as wine and spirits. Again, Basic Funerals will accommodate any request for receptions and we will create something unique if you prefer.
